I have been associated with Solden Hill House Ltd for five years now, and it has been a remarkable journey so far. We have
successfully modernised all aspects of our service provision since 2018, which
has been an exciting and satisfying experience. I am proud to share that we
have recently expanded our outreach from Byfield into Brackley and Duston,
which reflects the high regard we have earned from our local authority.
With my
background of assisting health and social care providers and stakeholders for
the past 20 years, my focus is to ensure that Solden remains viable in this
unpredictable and underfunded sector. My ambition is to create a robust
succession plan that will enable our charity to be continuously successful. I
aim to develop quality leaders from within our team and produce outstanding
outcomes for those we support. I believe that this will result in a brighter
future for Solden, and I am excited to contribute my best efforts towards it.
Sarah Swami - Chief Operating Officer

than a decade ago, I embarked upon a fulfilling journey in the care sector,
beginning my career as a Support Worker. Over the years, I have had the
opportunity to work with a variety of individuals, including Autism
Specialists, those with Challenging Behaviour, Learning Disability, Psychosis,
and more. More recently I have relished
the opportunity of supporting the senior team at Solden Hill House to achieve registered
manager status with CQC. This will help
safeguard the future and succession planning of this wonderful charity. Working alongside the support team, I have
helped to develop strong relationships with Local Authorities and the CQC,
which regulates our services. Outside of work, I enjoy various leisure
activities such as dog walking, gardening, music, and socialising. I have a
special interest in visiting the theatre, particularly for musicals.
Michelle Lewis - Chief Financial Officer
I have been employed at Solden Hill House
Limited since 2016. This is my first position within adult social care,
previously working at Banbury & District Chamber of Commerce and also
Banbury Young Homeless Project which was my first experience of the Charity
sector. I have over 25 years’ experience
within finance and administration.
We have seen many changes within the
charity over the past few years and are always looking at ways to safeguard our
Charity within this sector by continuously improving our service.
Working closely with the CEO, COO, Nominated Individual and the Registered Managers as well as Local
Authorities and stakeholders, I ensure that all financial and administration
tasks are in place.
In my spare time I enjoy
travelling, going to the theatre and dog sitting.
Nikki Woodhead - Marketing & Engagaement
I've been working with Solden Hill House for more than 4 years, and it has been an absolute pleasure! I am responsible for managing the website, social media platforms, internal and external newsletters, and all marketing materials. I am extremely passionate about my work for Solden Hill House, and over time, I have become increasingly engaged in the activities that promote the exceptional care and the charity itself.
Isobel Sutthikhot - Nominated Individual
& Registered Manager Flora Innes
I have worked in the care industry since the age of 14. At first I made drinks for the elderly, but soon I discovered my passion for listening and supporting people and started working at the Leonard Cheshire Foundation. There, I supported profoundly disabled individuals, mainly those with neurological and multiple sclerosis conditions.
As my interest in the care field widened, I moved onto nursing care and completed a preliminary certificate in social care. I then gained work experience with people with learning disabilities and quickly realised that this was the career path I wanted to pursue.
In 1993, I applied to work at Solden as a support worker. Over time, I took on additional responsibilities and qualifications and eventually became the Home Manager of both Solden and Giles House.
Currently, I am the CQC Nominated Individual and Registered Manager of Flora Innes, where I supported a full renovation in 2020. This opportunity has been wonderful and I have enjoyed so many different challenges and met some amazing people in my 30-year service.
When not working, I love to explore the coast with my family and dog. I also enjoy travelling and often take my caravan to the coast. Additionally, I love cooking and trying new foods.
Joanne Emery
In 2000, I began working in a local school for children with additional needs, which gave me my first insight into learning disabilities. After my children grew up, I started working in a children's home for teenagers aged 13-19 with challenging behaviour. However, in January 2016, I broke my ankle and decided to apply for a care job closer to home. This led me to Solden, where I started my career as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities.
Over time, I worked my way up to become a key worker for three residents before becoming Robyn's deputy in Apps. When Flora Innes opened, I became the manager of Giles House and then took over both supported living houses at Solden in July 2022. During the last 20 months, I completed a diploma in leadership and management for adult care and obtained my Registered Manager status in January 2023. I enjoy promoting independence in the community and at home, and I look forward to sharing my knowledge with the team at Solden.
Robyn Grant
I started my journey with Solden back in 2009 when I was just 17 years old, completing a level 2 college placement in health and social care. To be honest, I only chose this course because I had no idea what else to do. Surprisingly, I found my true calling.
When I turned 18, I was offered a job as a support worker. Since then, I have spent the past 13 years working my way up the career ladder and now hold the position of Registered Manager. During my tenure, I have had the privilege of getting to know the amazing individuals we support as a charity. Growing up alongside them has been a wonderful experience.
Over the course of my career, I have achieved numerous milestones and gained invaluable knowledge. Most recently, I earned a distinction in my NVQ 5.
Solden Hill House Limited is seeking to hire full-time and part-time staff members who are passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities. As a member of the team, your primary responsibilities would include creating a respectful, accepting and tolerant environment where individuals can thrive.
You will be responsible for maintaining the records of our residents, encouraging them to independently complete personal care and contributing to the daily running of the house by cleaning communal areas, cooking, shopping and performing general household maintenance. At all times you'll ensure that the health, hygiene and safety of the residents are upheld. Additionally, you'll liaise with external agencies, families, friends, advocates and the management team to provide a consistent approach that meets the individual needs of each resident.
Successful candidates will ideally have previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently. You should be self-motivated and capable of processing, recording and passing on information while accurately carrying out instructions. Confidentiality and the ability to prioritise your workload are also essential. You'll need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Solden Hill House Limited is offering comprehensive induction and training, a funded DBS check, meals while on shift and a health cash plan. The job is available on a full-time or part-time basis, and the salary will be determined by experience.
