Living Life your way
CQC Outstanding Logo

Flora Innes House is a warm, welcoming residential home providing specialist support for adults with learning disabilities, autism and a range of complex needs. Designed to promote independence, confidence and wellbeing, the home offers a safe and nurturing environment where every individual is encouraged to live life to the fullest.

The quality of support provided atFlora Innes House has been recognised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which awarded the service an Outstanding rating—reflecting the dedication, compassion and professionalism of the team, and their unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional person-centred support.

Home to nine residents, Flora Innes House offers seven spacious en-suite bedrooms and a self-contained two-bedroom flat, providing comfortable, homely accommodation that respects both privacy and independence.

Life at Flora is very much about being part of the wider community.

Residents enjoy busy and varied lives, with regular activities including bowling, days out, shopping, eating out and visits to attractions such as the National Motorcycle Museum. People are supported to choose the places they want to visit and the experiences they'd like to enjoy, rather than following a set programme of activities.

There is also a strong emphasis on purposeful roles and contributing to the community. Residents volunteer at local cafés and Salvation Army charity shops, help within their local church and take pride in maintaining their own allotment.

These opportunities are about much more than filling the day. They enable people to develop practical and social skills, build relationships outside their home, take responsibility, grow in confidence and experience the satisfaction that comes from making a genuine contribution to their community.

Residents also enjoy holidays, special events and plenty of spontaneous adventures, alongside quieter time at home pursuing individual interests or simply relaxing with friends.

While residents can access activities and facilities across the wider Solden Hill House community, Flora Innes House has developed its own active and independent identity, with much of everyday life taking place within the local community and beyond.

Above all, Flora is about supporting people to have choice, purpose, relationships and opportunities—and to be active participants in their own lives and the communities around them.

Proudly Rated Outstanding by the CQC Flora Innes House is proud to have achieved an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission, recognising the exceptional quality of support provided by our dedicated team. There really isn't a typical week at Flora—and that's exactly how it should be. People's routines are shaped around their individual interests, commitments and choices.

A week might include:

Volunteering at a local café or Salvation Army charity shop
Helping at the local church
Spending time maintaining the allotment and deciding what to grow
A regular bowling session
Shopping and choosing personal purchases
Preparing meals and developing everyday living skills
Visiting a museum, wildlife park or other favourite attraction
Going out for coffee or lunch with friends
Swimming, walking or keeping active
Arts, crafts, music or other personal interests
Planning the next day trip, event or holiday
Relaxing at home and enjoying time with friends

What matters isn't how busy somebody's week is, but that their time is meaningful to them. Every person is supported to make choices, develop relationships, contribute to their community and pursue the things that give their life purpose.
